Yesterday, more than one hundred members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives signed and forwarded a letter to Governor Wolfe.
Their message, prompted by concerns expressed by their constituents, was rebuffed by Wolfe today. Expressing confidence in the continuous training PA-FEMA, the National Guard and the State Police undergo to respond to disaster, Wolfe apparently has no concern for the Pennsylvania citizens who will have the unfortunate distinction of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I do hope it is not in one of the elementary schools protected by the signs that declare they exist in a ‘No Gun Zone’.
I raised my concern about the response to a terrorist attack in the county where I live last year after doing some due diligence. Bucks County’s reliance on the somewhat limited resources that Wolfe places so much faith in did not leave me feeling very assured. I do not question the ability of the police units that will respond but in the case of a large scale attack across the State, or even the nation, getting the National Guard and FEMA on the scene will be time consuming.
Wolfe will be responsible for the deaths of the citizens that occur during the extended response.
